Had this discussion on Sunday and we couldn’t really get a definative answer to it! I’m sure it’s something we’ve all experianced, that those ghostes certainly give it more!

The only thing I can really think of is it’s something to do with the breeding, and the selectiveness of the breeding for the colours produces fish that are also fitter as well as having the nice colours?

        Your thoughts please!

because they are ghosts! Therefore don’t have to fight against the pressure of the water… :)~clap ~clap ~clap

They definitely seem to fight extra hard.

Thats the strange thing. They are actually weaker genetically because they are basically inbreds.

Fish can learn to fight less hard though. A truely wild carp will fight harder than one thats caught every week. Survival instincts. Fighting costs energy. Perhaps ghosties are more wary than there natural cousins so are caught less and therefore fight more. Who knows.

Perhaps its because they are more spirited.

They are “dead” good fighters, either that or it’s cos there usually 8pound+ and fouled up the arse!

Its all to do with power to weight ratio. They are lighter (in colour) therefore can swim faster ~clap

Maybe they get “spooked” when they are hooked?
