        Typically,

what sort of time scale does a carp take from start to finish when spawning?

          TF_Nigel.

I recon on about 4 hours, and they do this around 4 times. over 2 days. Morning mostly, but sometimes evening too, followed again the following morning and evening.

More often than not, they spawn on or around June the first.

Once the water temperature hits 18 degrees, then they will start. (they have just finished here in the big lake, and spawning this morning on the match lake)

like nigel says, but…..if they are interupted (like a sudden drop in temp) which may happen over the next few days they sometimes stop and start up again when the temp goes back up to 18
one year i remember it lasting way over a month on my local…..
