Ok, My super G10 is breaking my already bad back, giving me jip the next day. Not the poles fault but my back.
Im thinking of selling my pole which is virtually brand new with loads of spares for around £1500. So i was looking at the Z9.
Now when i’ve asked people have they seen the Z9 the majority have said NO, and they wouldnt touch anything by Browning which “makes shite, cheap gear”.

Has anyone had both poles? and has an opinion?.

I really only fish for F1’s to 3lb, Ide shallow to 1lb and the odd carp to 10lb. I have a marging pole for anything bigger. My elastic choice is doubled, 5,6 & 8.
I have power tops but never use them.I would like to be able to fish to 18m for short periods.

Can the pole cope with this?.

Who is doing the cheapest package both normal and Pro?.Is there a website showing the spares list and prices?.Do you need the Z7 number 4’s for carp?.

        cheers in advance

Hi mate, ive just got the z9 and also have a g10 although im selling that. The z9 is noticeably lighter, and theres barely anything in it stiffness wise although the g10 is a bit stiffer at 16m. I havent actually fished with it yet, but the no.4 feels reassuringly strong to me, and the 5 and 6 definitley feel strong. The only complaint i had with the g10 was when fishing 16m and waiting for bites, it was just too much stress on your back, although it wasnt such a problem when constantly shipping in and out, just when you had to sit and hold it for long periods. There is no way i could have fished it at 17.5m, and this should be possible with the z9. Browning do seem to have a bad reputation but there gear has improved no end, you only have to look at there latest luggage which uses the best oxford nylon materials and is superb compared to the older stuff which seemed to be made on the cheap. Have a hold of a z9 and im sure you will agree it doesnt feel cheap!

I’ve had both mate and in my opinion the Z9 is the better pole for my type of fishing, which to be fair sounds just like yours. I usually fish places like Lindholme, The Oaks and Farview.
Browning has now sorted out its customer service problems and the quality of their gear is second to none.
The Z9 is light, well balanced and responsive with a finish that is the best i’ve used.
The power match kits are very good and will handle elastics of all sizes, i have 2x doubled no5,6,8 and 2x half lengths of black hydro. I have bought the Z7 no4’s as they feel slightly stronger and are £90 cheaper, Adam Richards uses the Z9 no4’s for all his fishing with no problems so they are strong but quite expensive to have a few as spares or when fishing deep venues.
I have the Browning catalogue on my laptop if you pm me your email address i will try send you it.
