Hoar Park Fishery catch report to June 8th 2010

Fishing has been very good considering the heatwave with lots of fish to 15lb being caught, obviously floaters are doing most damage with anglers taking up to 8 fish in a few hours off the top, chum mixers being the outstanding bait.

Pleasure catches have been great with some cracking days had by many anglers, venue regular Gary Welding of Coleshill took 14 Carp to 10lb and bits for an estimated 80-90lb total bag. Gary fished peg 1 close to the reeds using 4mm pellet fished over small bed of hemp and pellet.

Mark Telford of Nuneaton had a great day with 8 Carp to a PB 13lb 7oz as well as that BIG PB 6lb 2oz Tench and some dog Roach to a 1lb, Mark reckons it was his best ever days fishing, he was fishing corn and meat over a bed of hemp fished close to the lilies on kestrel pool.

There has also been some fantastic silver fish catches with Roach and Rudd to over 1lb being caught, trick is patience as you need to feed off and wade through the babies first but as venue regular Warren Tudor found out patience is rewarded, he took 32lb of Roach to 1lb 2oz and some cracking Rudd. Warren pole fished close to a marginal reed bed on the bottom pool, maggot and corn fished over a bed of brown crumb was the winning bait combination.

As of this weekend (11 June) night fishing will be allowed, it is Friday and Saturday nights only and strictly booking only, cost will be £12.50 and ticket will run from 1800- 1800 the next day, to reserve your place contact me on 07826 632854.
