Are you using a rubber landing net by any chance?

yes first net was rubber Steve and did think it could cut easy i played one fish scoped it then had to scope a secound time
next time i went the net i used after had also split and noticed this at the start
Lump thats what i was thinking with the carp one did get stuck in the net

I think i might be catching the nets on the legs of my seatbox as ive changed where i put my landing net slightly

That would explain it mate. I only mentioned the rubber nets as I have had 2 split on me with carp, but only with big fish. In fact the last time it happened I landed a 20lb+ carp here in Belgium and it thrashed in the landing net, it split and went back into the lake, snapping my line in the process… To say I was grumpy was an understatement! My teddies went out of the cot and the net is now at the bottom of the lake next door to where I was fishing. Made a great frisbie!!
