We’re running a project to see if we can use depth and GPS data logged by boats to create more detailed charts.
We’re looking for fishing boats to participate. See http://www.teamsurv.eu for more information.

All you need is a depth sounder and a GPS with NMEA0183 data output. Data is logged by our data logger, and then you upload it to the web site when you get ashore.

If you use a PC on board we have a software logger, or we have a hardware logger. Within our trials areas (Poole to Chichester and Thames Estuary to the Wash) we can supply the hardware logger on loan free of charge, but in other areas you need to buy it at a subsidised price; the software logger is free of chargew wherever you are.
