Attatching Your Rig To Your Main Line

  Im quite new to carp fishing and having a few problems
  
  went fishing yesterday had my carp rods out 8lb daiwa sensor monofil line with a size 10 12lb korum barbed hair rig attatched, through the session i had 2 runs on both occasions i got snapped (or did i)?
  
  Im not that good at tying knots and things the reason why i went for the ready made rigs im just wondering if my knots are wrong and it is pulling off my main line and thats how i lose the fish.
  
  Im after a little advice on how to knot them on to my line properly if thats ok.

  is there a certain type of knot you could reccomend using for tieing rigs onto main line?

  Palomar knot is a very simple knot to learn and is very strong. Make sure that you moisten the knot before pulling tight slowly. 8lb Sensor has a real breaking strain of around 11lb so even a badly tied knot should give you a breaking strain of higher than the stated one. If you are taking fishing for carp seriously, then I would highly recommend at least a stated 12lb breaking strain line as 8lb line is only really needed when you require to cast a very long distance in conjunction with a shock leader.

  well i got the daiwa sensor 20lb line other day its thinner than the 10lb line i was usin on my reels i got with my carp rods so im guna use that for now on my spare spools i think see how things pan out. ive got a diagram of that knot here so i will give it a try and see what happens 🙂
