Gearing up for silvers fishing in the autumn/ winter with my new pole. Has anyone treid the Maver Long One’s that replace the normal match 1 and 2? If so how did you find them?

        cheers

I’ve used them for some time.

Had some for my G51 and now got a few for my 481.

I tend not to cut too much off my normal No 1 sections. When the long No 1’s are cut back to the same length as my match top 2 the bore of the long No1 is a lot wider than the match top 2.

I’ve got them fitted with doubled elastics and also hollows up to 6-10. For anything heavier I use power kits.

They do weigh slightly heavier than a match top 2 but can’t really say that I’ve noticed any difference in the balance of the pole.
