TF_drawbag1967I’m fishing punch on a canal in a couple of months and the depth is between 3 and 4 feet, I was going to use an Auchy but obviously they only go down to a .4 can anyone recommend a lighter pattern. My next question is regarding bloodworm hooks, yesterday I was using the Sensas 3530’s, I had to fish this light to catch eyeballs, the problem being when I started catching at a rate the hooks started to bend (probably down to my fat fingers), can anyone recommend another pattern.

TF_lloydy1970Fox mp6, hooks are right but if your bagging on bloodworm try a b511 and just pinch the barb

TF_chaveyParticipantPunch Floats- Garbolino DS9
Bloodworm hooks- If you like the shape of the 3530’s try the Drennan Polemaster competition (used to be called the Super Carbon Canal) as they are just a little tougher, Failing that use the Barbless Fox MP1’s, or Image IM1b which are a similar shape but as they have no barb you shouldn’t bend them unhooking them, just use a nice soft elastic 0.6 latex or a no.2 to keep the fish on the hook. -

TF_wildingukI’m with drawbag that the auchy is a great float, I can’t work out why they don’t do a 0.2gm and 0.3gm float in the range. Is rather annoying. I’ve been using the tubertini stix in lighter sizes instead, is a good float…and fibreglass bristle is very easy to see. Similarly on the oencil float line, you can look at the rive scotthorne series 110, or the rive series 43…both are similar floats.

TF_Fred DavisI have been seeking Rob Potiingers( won the garbo clubman of the year award) help on the design of a canal punch float as he is the best I have seen fishing this method, even Dave coster wrote about potty’s prowess on the bread in anglers mail after being pegged next peg to him, again more recently in the gerrards cross teams of 4 on a cold clear river colne potty did the bizz on the bread winning his section with over 10lb no fish bigger than a few ounces.
a prototype has been given to pot which I v’e tried to build to his specifications.
picture of the prototypes.

TF_NW Cut AnglerThe 1M is an excellent hook. I like the 2T for some of my canal caster / breadpunch fishing.
