Silver fish matches Hemmington Match Lake.

  Starting a week on wednesday ( 19th Jan) we are going to run a few silver fish matches every wed on the main match lake at Hemmington ( Rycroft).
  This is just until the beginning of March. ( i expect the usual wednesday matches will start up again then on the Moat and Clover)
  
  It will be float only( waggler allowed, no pole length restriction), no carp, no bait restrictions.
  Draw 9 am fish 10-15 to 3-15.
  
  I have also booked the same lake on Saturday 5th and Sat 12th of Feb again as silver fish matches, float only.
  
  Max of 24 pegs so as to leave corners out

  cracking match considering a really hard frost last night and it si still january. Anglers caught on a variety of methods. worm and joker, choppy, maggot, pellet. mostly roach, odd Perch and skimmer.
  
  If we can keep a bit of interest this winter I’ll start them earlier next winter. Already had requests for a silvers league. Beats the carp bingo and guarantees bites.
  
  Must be honest it’s been nice not to have the monotony of carping and winning not just being down to drawing.

  the last 2 carp matches i’ve caught nowt and there was nowt I could have done really and I have’nt had a days fishing and that happens everywhere.
  I’ve fished 2 silvers matches, (everyone bar none has caught) had plenty of bites and fish, won money in one, could of in the other if I’d been more up to speed, (it’s 20 years since I fished b/worm)
  
  You can compete, it’s a case of putting some time in to learn and get better at it which is what some of us are doing.
  
  It isn’t expensive,that’s a fallacy. what I use cost’s me less than Â£5 a match (and I think I’ve been putting too much in at that)and when it get’s a bit warmer you won’t need it, just a few worms and some casters
  
  Wayne did brilliant last wednesday, opened our eyes a bit so less Bloodworm and a pellet line maybe, a lot of the fish caught last week were on caster, Blood isn’t the be all, just something to use in the right circumstances.
  
  still, it’ll be summer soon, we’ll need a load of meat then at Â£1.25 a tin lolol

  Gimp, why come on a commercial carp lake and fish for silvers you should be sittin on a wicker basket with ya flat cap and whippets sitting by your side on some dog crap infested canal somewhere lol~naughty ** sorry spelling mistake should be chimp not gimp…..no think i was right first time ~clap

  it’s only a bit of fun 🙂 never been that great at silvers so cant judge . its bin 4 years of carp carp and carp not many at that either.i’ll stick ta what i now .(NOTHING)
