what a great night the gooners get beat and now the mighty liverpool with the messiah in charge lose again. King kenny has got a 100% losing record haha and you thought rafa and woy were crap managers and to top it all you play everton on sunday what odds on 3 from 3 for super kenny

Perhaps clubs will stop sacking managers so hastily (I doubt it). You look at the Liverpool team / squad and it is dreadfully low on quality and has been for quite a while.

Why are no youngsters emerging from Merseyside for Liverpool, why no gems from the low divisions, why no fantastic talent brought in.

The present liverpool players are not good enough.

Blackpool illustrate that A) the Premiership is becoming a poorer competition and B) smart management / player recruitment can pay dividends.

The Premier League is sinking badly in 2010/2011

Dalglish looked shellshocked. It’ll take more than pulling on his old 80s Adidas jacket to turn the ship around.

The foreign invasion has hit it’s peak and it’s destroyed the game- everyone from medical staff, managers, youth players and first team are 95% foreign. When will it stop? Why did Avram Grant ever get the W.Ham job or Mancini the M.City? Why are there less English managers and players playing in the English PL? Something has to be done but it won’t. Sven and Capello are all the proof you need..

Wolves fan here…..felt sorry for Hodgson tbh as he inherited a bag of nails and was not backed by the board. Was on a hiding to nothing with the skeleton in the closet lurking that was Dalgleish. Look forward to seeing what he manages to do that Hodgson couldn’t with some support. Liverpool are no more than a top 10 team now with only 3 stars left. Would love to see them do better. Hodgson was right manager at the wrong time.

Ps ….. Not one poster has given Blackpool FC one bit of credit for the way they play their football and the results they have achieved this season. As i posted at the start of this season , Blackpool are a breath of fresh air (my words) and a fantastic credit to to English football.

as a lifelong united supporter my first instinct is to gloat ~think why after winning the youth cup 2 years running has no kids come through ~think the answer im afraid is fear. beni was afraid of failing too often, whilst bringing kids through and concequently having the fans on his back. the supporters much like those of newcastle united have expectations way above there current station and anything less leads to unrest and a change in management ( again) whilst all the time there are two examples right in front of there nose. wegner/fergy, both were given over 5 years to build not a team but a CLUB capable of attaining success and maintaining it. then you have the other way. man city / chelski. spend loads of money and buy success. alas this is short term success dependable on outside forces out of the clubs control. what liverpool have to do is explain to the fans that a rebuilding plan is in place and regardless of results the management structure will remain unaltered. they then need a complete break from the past and employ new backroom staff appointed by the new manager, who should be young enough to know current methods and old enough to handle them. what they did not need was a mesiah.

what a fool!, we fans never wanted Woy hodgson in charge. We always wanted Kenny until a long time target could be found.
Get your facts right yer muppet.

As for the foreign kids, the academys is full of them. My nephew was at the academy as a holding midfielder but because he kept it simple and pinged the ball around he got rejected for foreign – ball greedy kids!..it was amazing to watch. All the kids from liverpool now go into the like of macclesfield etc to get into football.

                                  The academy is a joke!.

your quite right youngy. its a media driven world now. it sickens me to listen to has beens on the radio discussing a managers replacement before he,s been sacked. owners need testicles nowadays and there,s not many owners with them. as for the kids nowadays yes there farmed out and that could explain why clubs out of the top 6 link are doing so well. so its not all bad. woy never stood a chance he,s not the liverpool type. his style requires time on the job, fulham are the only club to give him any.

Dodge: of course it’s the worst post you have ever read cos your club are the one the main culpits and are killing the game. How many more morons are your lot gonna sign for £30m+? The prem out of our League? Interesting and very far from the truth plus Blackpool have proved the strength of the championship! Man city have never competed in the prem since it started they’ve just plodded and then 1 day an billionaire fell out of the clouds

Your club has sold it’s soul and become a joke, players join for cash, so much cash they would happily sit in the reserves and rot!

I was delighted when you nicked Tevez from the scum but if you think the prem is good then fair play cos IMHO it’s dire. Scum are top of the league and will win it and if that side is the best this country can produce then it’s time to worry.

But hey Man city will keep the circus rolling for a few years..

Kenny Dalglish inherited a good team at Newcastle and then systematically destroyed it.

He ruined the club and when I heard that he’d been put in charge of Liverpool I couldn’t believe it.

Everybody said Newcastle were too good to go down and although Liverpool have a stronger team on paper, if their hearts aren’t in it and they aren’t 100% behind the manager they could be in dire trouble.

It’s no so much what happens on the pitch that can destroy a club, it’s what goes on behind the scenes.

Gerrards penalty miss was unbelieveable and his sending off spoke volumes. If he goes during the transfer I don’t think anything else will need to be said~think

Brentford, Birmingham then Leicester where he couldn’t stay in the 1st team so went on a whistle stop tour on loan to blackpool, back to Leicester, out to Derby & Blackpool again, back to Leicester before making the Blackpool move permanent at end of August 2010.

Dodge I take no issue with other points in your post buy everybody i speak to and hear (media experts) state that the standard of the Premiership in 2010/2011 is poor and worse than previous seasons.

Mediocre would be my description. The stansdard at the top challenging for CL places etc is so poor (I am a Man U fan) compred to past seasons and beyond that it is a mass of clubs fighting for 40pts and another season in the Premier League. When 3/4 of a league are fighting to avoid relegation and that is the best part of the league then it has problems.

Surely you have watched / left the ground after numerous City games and thought that was P*** Poor ?

As a Man U fan i can be objective and honest enough to say that is the case in many of our games.

I would suggest the same for Chelsea, Arsenal and City (unless you are deluded?)

If anything Tidal I think Blackpool serve as a reminder that there are good players in the lower leagues and that clubs traditionally always bought promising players from the lower division. The transfer fees being vital to those clubs. Liverpool was a classic example. Apparently Tranmere have a fantastic young left sided winger so why have Liverpool not been looking there. Southampton seem to produce talented youngsters too.

So what has changed then ?

The season has only just passed the half way stage , every club has something to play for , the league is the tightest its ever been , anyone of 10 or so clubs could get relegated and anyone of 5 clubs could win the title ! In the past just Chelsea and Man Utd (when they had a good squad) could win the premiership. Blackpool are playing a fantastic brand of football, Bolton have improved tremendously , Sunderland have a fantastic home record a look a good bet for european football for the first time possibly ever lol, Wolves and WBA are playing good football but letting a few in , Spurs are playing fantastic , so too are Arsenal, Newcastle can beat anyone on their day, ditto Everton ……. the only let down for me are Man Utd …… played awful all season but still top of the prem through plenty of refereing decisions going their way and a bloke lovingly known as taggart who has seen it all before !

Clubs that should be destroying the opposition with a brand of football they cannot compete with. No club at the present time offers that. Worse still the so call top clubs regularly field sub standard teams in order to rest their players which lowers the standard further. The top clubs should be dragging any league kicking and screaming upwards.

Personally, I do not care how much they spend provided what we see on the field reflects that investment. Instead, we have a very dull petrified to be bold and ambitious team who offer nothing.

Great credit to taggart though for keeping them right up there. Chelsea have slipped alarmingly also because the russian hasnt invested like he used to do. Barcelona and Real Madrid have invested heavily again and La Liga is yet again a two horse race !!!!

I am not sure where you get this notion investment = quality / the best. Man U invested but the success was based on a core of home grown talent. Most clubs who enjoy long term success are based on that premise.

How can it be sour grapes. I support a team out performing Man City. Man city who have not won anything.

You still avoid the question? are you happy with the present quality of football being delivered by Man City? is it attractive?

Man U rarely is but that remains better than City. Chelsea rarely is. Arsenal can be good but is hit and miss.

When Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal were on top of their game teams exercised damage limitation. Those teams could destroy opposition. no club in the premier League does that now.
