Couldn’t resist a bargain last week and got myself the Maver MX3500 seatbox from Go Outdoors, and it looks the biz.
Now I already have a Preston 4 drawer On Box that did me just fine for the last 4 years or so, and fits on my Preston Space Shuttle no problems and I can carry all my bits and bobs (catty’s, pellet pumps, feeders, etc) in it.
So, do I keep the Preston and flog the Maver, and probably even make a few quid? Or will the Maver fit on the Preston Shuttle OK and should I keep that instead and get rid of the Preston, as I already have some interest if I sell it.

At the moment I’m swaying towards keeping the Maver as it’s all nice and new, and was a bit of a bargain, but wondered which way you’d vote.

Sell the Maver mate.Trust me ive had three seats on mine now in just over a year and now the footplate has cracked were the front set of legs go through. If you got the wheel kit with it thats a waist of time too.Get rid. Worst £350 ive ever spent in all my time fishing.

Ive had the Maver and thought it was shocking..!

The seat is particulary uncomfortable, and not a “gel” seat, so after 3 or 4 uses it goes very soft, i thought the idea of putting the draws on the bottom section is ill conceived, as you have to bend down to near your ankles to get anything out, im not overly sure how many bangs the plastic covers on the side will take before they break. Plus the fact no one can sell the things second hand!! Ive seen them advertised in shops at £230 ish.. Best i think you will get s/hand for a new un is £180 tops!!

Where as the preston has got a good gel seat, all your bits fit it already, the draws on them are at the right height.. Plus youve had it 4 years and nowts gone wrong…

            Impulse purchase i think.. lol

Glad im not on my own then Ian.Tried selling mine, and also tried P/x against a Colmic one box.Next time i buy anything ill wait till its been out a while. You pay top money and end up doing the testing for the manufactuer, when it should have been done before release.I agree what you say selling second hand mate as i know what ive been offered £100 one year old when it cost £350.Dont know what maggot drowner paid but it might not be such a bargain as he first thought.Sell the Maver now you might get lucky being new season soon.
