Slightly bigger but I can’t tell much on the weight. Just visit your nearest dealer and compare them, that’s what I did. I use one of my feeder reels for bagging waggler and the like as the spools allow for heavier line.

Both float and feeder reels are excellent value for money, you won’t be disappointed.

I often wonder why Drennan has started doing rods and reels under a ton… Can anyone enlighten on the matter? Have their rod sales dropped so much at the top end now or????

Back when I was in the trade, I remember that their policy was Rods and poles of a minimum quality and price. The cheaper poles were absolute crap, but their TE poles were OK…

NOTHING was under £100 back when the IM8, IM6 rods were the dogs swollocks..

I think it is called moving production overseas Lee. Most things are made in China rather than Oxford or wherever but are still good quality.

Where were the IM6, IM8 and TE rods made back in the day?

                Surely that was asia?

drennan would rather sell more rods at a reasonable price, than sell a few at inflated prices, but the quality is still second to none.
have a look at the new red range, top quality tackle at unbelievably good prices, you can get a commercial set up (rod and reel) for about £70.
EVERY item is hand checked for quality, so go and have a look!!!!

I reckon Mr Drennan has it spot on, why have anglers who are fishing on a budget sat on the bank using dragon crap direct gear and the likes, when you can give them quality Drennan gear at a price they can and will pay.

your right f.p, but a lot of anglers think that just because its expensive it must be good, especially rods and reels, and the way the country is going now, drennan are making great tackle at a fraction of the cost to anglers of other “leading” tackle companies

Couldn’t agree more deanb. Do they make seat boxes, seeing some of these boxes approaching a grand, its barmy.
