TF_John PriceLadies and Gents,
after much grovelling and washing up I have convinced the Ladyfriend to consider SKY+HD to go with the new TV 😉
My question is whether to go with them for the whole internet, phone and TV package or only the TV side of things? Do any of you have experience of the whole package and if so what are your opinions??
My other question is which channel is Fish ‘o’ on as I have already earmarked the art and culture pack for Discovery shed!! 😉
Thanks in advance for any advice.
JP

TF_GaryI used to get TV, phone and internet through Sky and found it to be fine. When I moved house, I couldn’t get the free Sky broadband in my area (it is very limited so check before getting too excited about which package you might go for!) so I now get my phone and internet through Tiscali (c.£18 per month including phone line rental) and TV through Sky.

TF_D.W.When I moved last summer John, I was essentially forced onto SKY due to Virgin not cabling the house I moved into & the neighbours (the only 2 houses in the street not to be cabled!), so went with SKY for phone, tv & broadband. I cannot grumble at all. The Tech Support team know what they are talking about & doing (unlike Virgin), are based in Scotland or Ireland (depending on the call centre you get through to) rather than Asia, and have had one 10 minute outage since September with them (due to BT Openreach faffing about at the exchange). The “free” broadband offer is not worth it unless you are going to be hardly using it as you have a 2GB per month transfer limit. The £7.50 package is unlimited (should be £12.50 per month but you get a fiver discount if you take SKY Talk). SKY Talk has saved me a small fortune in phone calls due to the unlimited landline calls.
The TV I have all the packs other than sports & movies (wouldn’t watch anything on either!) and had no problems with the snow affecting the LMB (which I was expecting!). Not had any problems with the SKY+HD box either (which was a different story with the older Sky+ boxes).Overall, I am very pleased with the services I get other than 9/10 times there is bugger all worth watching!!!

TF_Nigel.I was on AOl for years, and they kept blaming BT for the slow line and slow BB, so rather than go to Sky, who may have still blamed BT, i decided to go straight to BT.
I have 10GB per month transfer limit, but they have mailed me saying i am reaching it! I dont download at all, or i didn’t thing i did!Is opening attachments downloading?
Is just being online counting towards my my monthly limit?

Nigel thats just them giving you a load of BS, they do that to me and I am on the 10 G as well. I used to have a dongle for 18 months with Vodofone that was 3G and I went over 2 times in 18 months and still only used to 5G.
I don’t download hardly anything but am on a computer a fair bit, now and then go to youtube and stuff like that takes a fair bit.
BT want everyone to pay extra for the unlimetd service because soon the 10G service will not be available they have the new infrastructure in place pretty much everywhere and are going to switch everyone over to unlimited and a faster speed, they keep asking me to switch and pay the extra and I keep telling them no I will stick with my contract. When your contract runs out you won’t be able to get the 10G package, but if you don’t download a lot of watch a LOT of videos then you will be nowhere near 10G, I would just wait it out till your contract ends mate
