        If fish have died in a lake what signs are there? Do they just sink to the bottom and rot or do they float up?

        If fish are dead on the bottom what’s the easiest way of finding out?

          As the water warms up any dead (not all) will ”ferment” and float to the top.

          The only proper way is to drain a lake, but not very easy.

            Not all dead fish end up floating.

            If you have any crayfish in the water then very few will float to the top.

            As said the only sure way to find out the stock is to drain the lake and then net it.
