Purple hydro is my margin elastic of choice from about May onwards. Enough grunt to deal with fish into low doubles but not too much that you bounce off 2/3lb’ers.

            hi adzt,
i would think along these lines,if not fishing a
snag filled peg it would be better once a fish of any size is hooked for it to move out of swim
straight away not spooking possible other feeding fish, if used with a puller kit you will handle any carp on even WHITE HYDRO , if you clamp down with elastic you will stop fish moving out and cause a bigger disturbance in the peg, thus poss stopping any further bites .
Of course this only applys if there is open water for fish to move too mate ,give it a try think u will be suprised .~think

generally red for margin monsters , at present black or purple would do although i prefer double middy 6-8 or double 8 preston slip original

              cheers mike strutter

I think it meant to say:

“Also try using a short length, too. Fine for 1-20lb fish”
