TF_gloves007ukHi mate
I went today for the first time
as for freebies angling times were handing out their paper with IYCF mag as well other than that not any freebies that i could see unless you signed up to some thing and payed money for it.
As a match angler didnt see any bargins to be had really, the show was more geared up to the bivi boys with lots of kit on show tailored towards them. Sat in on a few of the guest shows and came away with a tip or 2.
After about 2 hours managed to do 2 laps of the stalls and was bored.
All the big tackle companies are there and some good tackle shops. Then there are the tit for tat stalls that were selling c**p at marked up prices.
Thats my thoughts on the show all depends what your going for matey?
I went really to sit in and hear the guest speakers have a look round have a chat with a couple of people, wasnt really looking at buying anything
Get your self up the pole ally and have a good wiggle with the poles mate all on show. -

TF_RutilusThe seminars are worth every penny of your entry cost on their own!
You can look at all the cheap crap if you choose but you would be missing out on so much!!
Alan Scotthorne, Denis White, Mark Pollard, Darren cox, Steve ringer, Mick Bull, Alex bones to name but a few, all there and freely available to speak to one to one.
The day is what you make it.
Worth a visit …you bet it is.P.S. there’s loads of freebees…I came away with loads of stuff…just get talking to people!

boyceyParticipantshow was ok like you said sod all frebbies booo.but on the plus side was clean quite well layed out and the beers was ok at £3.50 a pint considering.only spent £20 quid through the whole show which included a matchbox seatbox for £10 quid still feel guilty now when the lad said i could have it for that.biggest disapointment was no cash machines which tbhonest saved me spending on stuff i probelry did,nt need.and after asking a woman why i should buy marakyu paste and not carry on using groundbait errrr the she could,nt so when i asked what does it have in it that makes it stand out she looked on the back and told me it had mashed potato in it wtf~think.no your products and your field before selling stuff….you could,nt make it up

TF_piperpilotEven fewer true!! bargains then last year and I personally found very few other the Fox baitboxes for a quid and some half decent SPRO pole floats for 50p each. Can’t remember what stand it was on but someone was selling Shakey Superteam match line at 4 for a fiver. Had a play with the G Max 1000 but TBH I couldn’t see why it would be worth changing from my G10. Liked the 13m G Max 550 and was tempted but resisted buying one for hardcore Carping,

TF_tractorboyI think you’ll find the days of giving products away have long gone.
Everyone is struggling to make a living in these times, so expect less bargains and no freebies. -

boyceyParticipanthad a wiggle on the beastmaster margin and was inpressed but yet again i found to be not enough info and reasons to buy.had a look at the adcock stanton stand and had a chat but after a bloke dropped a pin on the display cabinet and fucked the bearings inside i wavered away and lost confidence~think £300 pound reel and it was knackered after a small fall set alarm bells ringing and i walked over to greys yet again no info or selling given just yeah i have one of them and yeah there better than the rest ~think the only good info i get from anglers is on this website mainly cheers lads and keep those tips and tricks coming~clap

boyceyParticipanti was looking on the back wall were all the poles were up the stairs and the shimano rep/lad up there did,nt seem to know to much so yeah i did,nt ge to much info.see ringer but only pushing his guru stuff so did,nt really want to bother him did,nt see scothorne and jan camoman porter was hard to find covered in camo clothing~think dunno why was,nt a tree in site indoors.i think the bargain days are long gone just wish i had a iphone could of caught a lot of dealers out with there so called show offer prices…….? and i even see a asian stall selling tackle as well fair play but its all junk so there only cashing in market stall, car boot stylie.and the casting zone was a bit far as i remember going in.but the girls were nice and great mag to boot but did,nt get the food thing they were pushing very odd~think

TF_AdzTParticipantI went yesterday afternoon. was impressed with the maryuku bait, we went back so often they gave us a load of groundbait that was mixed up to freeze down, mind you the three of us did spend over 60, quid with them. Had a wiggle of the elite 88 and it realised that I would never afford one. Was really impressed with spro, their reels are lovely, the bloke on the stall said the red reel they do is made on the same line as the diawa reels but cost nearly half the money. Yes there was a lot of tat but I’ve been going for 3 years so no what to expect.

As by the looks of things no one else didI got – 2 sets of Guru method pre-tied hooklengths, a White Acres polo shirt, Anglers Mail, Angling times, IYCF mag, 4 clear wagglers, a bag of Marukyu groundbait, 3 DVDs (carp ones admittedly), bag of boilies.
Also got the 2 day ticket so got a Spro cool bag, pellet bander, baseball cap, another bag of Marukyu bait, Guru drag line, Guru pellet feeder, a £5.00 lunch voucher, pair of thick socks, a Darren Cox DVD.
Also, if you go to the lecture theatres the speakers were giving stuff away if you asked a question!
The day is what you make it.
