TF_Daz NewellI used my 12ft Tourney Pro again today and i am not convinced it is any better for the job than the Preston Mini’s i have used in the past….it seems too flicky on the tip..it is a fantastic rod BUT….. .might just be me but when am not happy with somat i need to sort it.
Only used it twice but am in the same mind now as i was first time i used it…..could be flea bay bound me thinks. -

TF_Tim_D12ft is quite long for a pellet wag rod unless you’re casting a long way. I’ve gone on to a diawa 10ft for casts up to 30m.

TF_Daz NewellHi guys.
Yeah i think its a bit long too also.
I just wanted to try the 12ft Tourney(plus it matches my Tourney bomb rod…anno tackle tart).
So i am now on the hunt for a good 11ft or even 10ft pellet wag rod.
Thanks for your views.
Cheers.

TF_riverboyAnother vote for the team daiwa pellet waggler, has enough power to handle proper lumps but soft enough for smaller fish aswell, if your using it to catch lumps all the time would look at there new extra power AU version.

TF_carpa22ParticipantI have all the tourney lead rods and when looking for a couple of pellet wagg rods went for the milo power pellet rods, looked at the tourney ones but just felt the milo were better, dont be put off by how thin the milo rods are i have the 11 and 12ft ones they are a top piece of kit no problems what so ever.

TF_Nick GilbertI still think the Preston 11ft is about the best pellet wag rod you can get. This rod set the benchmark for the current crop of shorter float rods but is still one of the best around. I’m not sure you would want to go shorter than 11ft.
I brought a couple back in 2006 when they first come out and have caught thousands of pounds of carp with them ranging from 1-15lb and the rods are as good now as they were new. Soft tipped but still having good power.
They have changes them slightly and they now come in two casting weights and the old rod blank is the same as the one newer one rated at 4-10g.

TF_spotter1707i still rate the Tri-cast pellet waggler or splash waggler. The splash waggler has an extension & has great backbone for those bigger fish. You also get a true british made rod!

TF_NathanWatson12ft is the length I prefer most of the time and the best rod I’ve used is a Normark Titan 2000, at 11ft I prefer the Shakespeare Mach 3.

makThe 12′ torny pro is spot on when you have to strike at bites at longer ranges
If i need power ill use a spectron m2 12′
The shimano 9/11 beastmaster is good for smaller chucks like on snakes at 9′ -
