FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 22/7/12

Last week 108 rods caught 130 fish for an average of 1.20.

It was a very hard week last week, particularly when the sun finally made an appearance which caused the fish to go down. Despite this, a few anglers enjoyed reasonable success especially those fishing from the boats.

The best fish was a 5lb rainbow caught in a four fish bag from the bank on Cocks Close by Mr Matthews of Coventry who caught on a combination of Buzzers and CDC Emergers fished on a floating line. Andrew Mein of Nuneaton fished the Great Pool from a boat and caught six fish to 4lb on small Gold Head Damsels and black Gant fished on the surface. Gary Cooper of Sutton Coldfield used a small white Lure to tempt five rainbows from the Park Meadow pool with his best fish going 3 ½lb.

The Day Ticket water, Cocks Close, will close for six weeks from Monday 6th August until Saturday 15th September. The members’ only pools, Park Meadow and Great Pool will remain open to members.
