TF_dendraDepends on temps and wind mate,1st and 3rd came from 24 and 22 on Sunday. There were two big pleasure weights from 42 last week,I went a decent chuck from 49 on the wall and they came after 1-2 hours.
They dont seem to have switched onto the denby just yet but red worm is good also dead reds and corn as a change bait.Keep looking off your feed just one or two turns past, and dont ignore last hour .You are not out of it at the draw as they can turn up on any peg on there. -

TF_NoCarpPleasefor what it’s worth – I fished the match on sunday, which was my first time on Earlswood since 1999.
The fish seem to be well spread out. There was very little wind on sunday and the weights were better than I expected in those conditions.
I fished shorter than most (40 turns) to avoid problems with the dinghy racers, although I didn’t need to worry as they stayed well out on the day.
I just fished a “tidy” feeder match, fishmeal based mix with maggots and casters in the feeder, alternating baits on the hook.
I caught well first hour and then last 30 minutes, but only had the odd hand sized fish in between … and messed up the last half hour by pulling out of 3 decent fish, so I should have had well over 20lb. When I had bites, they came fairly quickly after the feeder had settled, although not on the drop. Twitching the bait back didn’t seem to work on the day. I caught much better on maggot than on worm, although I got batterred next door by 3rd place, who did fish worm and fed a bit as well.Really enjoyable day – I’ll definitely be going back for the next open.

TF_dendraWater levels are starting to drop now,and a culmination of good weather, six weeks holiday increasing canal traffic ,should see it drop at pace. This means in the interest of fish welfare the Wall will not be used.Unless of course it drops creating the beach on the causeway which are Summer flyers. We will keep our eye on it regarding next open.

TF_NoCarpPleaseSumo – from my perspective they are really short walks ….. and a good surface for a trolley or barrow.
It’s a small distance (maybe 300 yards) from the car park to the reservoir on pavement.I drew half way along the long bank – opposite the yacht club – and it was 5 minutes tops from the corner of the ressy to my peg, probably less.
