Elinor Fishery August 6th
152 anglers caught 400 fish of which 234 were returned
Best Fish
7lb 2oz Michael Bownes, Stamford, black buzzer
Best Areas
Bank – coarse bank, east arm, lodge bank
Boat – east arm, down middle
Best Patterns
damsel, cdc buzzer, red diawl bach, daddies, tequila blob, white/green lures
The cooler weather has improved the fishing slightly from last week. Fish are rising throughout the day feeding on damsel nymph, adult damsel and corixa. During the many wet days there are daddies hatching.
There are also still plenty of fish at 5 – 8 foot down through the middle for the boat anglers to target with intermediate or di3 lines.
On overcast days bank fishing is better than usual for August. Boat anglers still have a big advantage in brighter conditions.
