        Ringstead Trout Fishery April 8th

Best Fish This Week: Peter Rear Milton Keynes Rainbow 6lb 4oz[Boat]-GH Black Fritz
John [“Taff”] Thomas Desborough Rainbow 5lb 12oz[Bank]-Damsel Nymph

James Foster Ringstead Rainbow Estimated 7-8lb[returned][Boat]-Cats Whisker

Best Bags This Week: Nick Wright Northampton 10 Rainbows from the bank on Cats Whisker[5 fish returned]
Mr Pratt Olney 7 Rainbows from the bank on Cats Whisker[2 fish returned]

At last the weather started to improve this week and those anglers who braved the weather in previous weeks were back again and catching well from the bank as the results above show .[Nick Wright and Mr Pratt].

Best tactics have been floating lines with long leaders with small lures or as the latter part of the week demonstrated nymph patterns which are just starting to be productive. The fish are still fairly deep but with warmer weather promised they should now start moving up in the water.James and son George Foster in the boat at the weekend produced the best fish of the week an estimated 7-8lb rainbow which was safely returned to the water.

Plenty of excellent fish being caught and this will only improve following the weekly stocking which will include brown trout over the coming week.
        Water clarity still good .

        Best Patterns:Damsel Nymph inc.GH Variations,Montana,Cats Whisker,Black Buzzer[Holo],Bloodworm,Black Fritz,Fritz Damsel.
