Elinor Trout Fishery June 19th, 2013
June 10th – 16th
183 anglers caught 528 fish of which 306 were returned
Best Fish
5lb 11oz Dave Cartwright , Norwich, damsel, boat
5lb 5oz John Gray, Cambridge, olive hopper
Brown
4lb 6oz Jean Clarke, Wellingborough, black buzzer
Best Areas
Bank – east arm, lagoon, dam
Boat – all areas holding fish
Best Patterns
small damsel, grhe, orange or amber hopper, red or green diawl bach, tequila blob
The fishing was harder last week with a rod average just under 3.
Lots of buzzers hatching but they are very small and difficult to imitate. Anglers using s14 or s16 olive or hares ear cdc have had some success.
When the sun is shining the damsel hatch continues with fish taking both the nymph and adult.
For the nymph feeders try a Fraser nymph or unweighted s12 damsel.
A foam daddy has taken some of the fish feeding on the adults.
Fish are still spread round the lake with bank and boat anglers having plenty of rising fish to cast at.
