FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 30/6/13
Last week 108 rods caught 237 fish for an average of 2.19 fish per rod.
The best fish of the week was a 12lb rainbow caught by Gary Cooper of Sutton Coldfield who was fishing from a boat on the Park Meadow pool and tempted it on a small white Lure. Harold Lewis of Knowle fished from a boat on Cocks Close and caught seven fish to 4lb which came to either a black Buzzer or a Diawl Bach fished on a floating line. Mr Walters of Kenilworth also fished from a boat on Cocks Close and caught seven fish to 4lb on a mixture of flies including Diawl Bach, Daddy Long Legs and Montana Nymph.
On the Great Pool, John Kingslake and Kevin Brookes shared a boat and caught a total of 19 fish between them with all of the fish coming to a small Gold Hares Ear pattern fished on a floating line.
Top patterns are Diawl bach, Damsel Nymph, black, red or olive Buzzers, GRHE, Daddy Long Legs and Bloodworm.
The best areas have been the sandbank and wires bank on Cocks Close, the dam wall areas on both Great Pool and Hall Pool and right in the middle of Park Meadow Pool.
The fishery opens at 8am and closes at dusk (10pm at the moment).
