Been catching a few lateley when there just not feeding Ive been swinging in front of shaddows and swirls etc and I have to admit it does work but is that all this method consists of, do you feed your regular shallow swim and have a couple of sections ready and chase crusing carp about or do you deliberatley spray your bait all over the place to create a wider feeding area or do you not feed anything at all  , the feeding bit of this method has me puzzled ?Regards Anthony

I feed nothing for those crusing lumps. I just feed normally in the swims im hoping to catch in once the fish start feeding properly later in the match. Great way to add those bonus pounds in the middle hours of a match when very little is being caught. As i dont usually fish shallow unless i have no choice. Its an ideal method for picking up the odd lump while settling down my long paste lines, 2 plus 2 bottom of the near shelf line and my margin swims. I catch a lot of these crusing carp while lowering in my paste rig. Just lower the paste rig in to the water 6 inches and hold it for a few seconds and expect a bump. Fishing paste goes hand in hand with picking out a few of these crusing lumps..

Those who aim to catch shallow in the normal way might have another way of doing it. Those crusing carp might be backing right off regular feed going in as those crusing carp are not usually interested in feeding. They are just crusing and trying to stay out of the way but will take a single bait thats just in front of them. I would imagine they could often be a pain in the arse if they started coming to feed because they are too shallow.
