FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 20/10/13

Last week 73 rods caught 220 for an average of 3.01.

It was a much better week with the fish starting to feed on the Day Ticket water Cocks Close. They are starting to move around the pool although the wires bank is the main hotspot with the high bank and old boat jetty corner also producing a few fish.
Small Buzzers, Damsel Nymph, GRHE, Bloodworm patterns and small Lures have all been successful.

The biggest fish of the week was a 10lb+ rainbow caught and returned by Harold Pritchett of Mancetter who was fishing Cocks Close and fished a Damsel Nymph deep down to tempt it along with ten other fish. Steve Roberts of Birmingham fished from a boat and took three rainbows to 4½lb, then returned his quota of six fish and these all came to a black and green Nymph fished on a floating line. Dave Bratby of Birmingham fished catch and release from the bank and caught ten fish to 4lb using small black Buzzers on a floating line.

On the members’ water, Great Pool is still fishing very hard with the fish holding right into the shallow water at the far end of the pool. Peter Wrigley of Nuneaton caught four fish on Buzzers and Diawl Bach from this area. Park Meadow is still fishing the best of the members’ waters and Gary Cooper fished from a boat on there and caught seven fish to 3lb on his favoured black Lure.
