FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 27/10/13
Last week 69 rods caught 140 for an average of two per rod.
It was a mixed week with the heavy rain and wind putting anglers off a little and it made conditions hard for those that did show.
The best fish of the week was a 7lb 4oz rainbow caught by Nigel Baskott of Coventry who was fishing from a boat on the Hall Pool and he took it on a white Lure. Andrew Moulder of Dorridge caught seven fish to 6lb 8oz whilst fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and these all fell to Cul de Canard and Bloodworm. Alec Twaites of Coventry fished the bank of Cocks Close and tempted seven fish to 4lb on a small Gold Head Damsel fished on a floating line. On the members’ water Park Meadow, Paul Reay of Birmingham caught six fish to 3lb using a mixture of black or white Lures and small Buzzers.
The best areas have been the wires bank and the old boat jetty corner on Cocks Close. On the members’ pools, Great Pool remains very hard with the fish showing in the shallow water but still difficult to tempt. On Park Meadow, the far side from the boat jetty is best.
Top patterns are Gold Head Damsel, sunken Daddies, Cats Whisker, black or olive Buzzers and Blooodworm.
