FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 12/1/14

Last week 53 rods caught 196 fish for an average of 3.70.

Cocks Close and Park Meadow pool are fishing very well at the moment with plenty being caught by boat and bank anglers alike. The top tactics is to a Gold Head Damsel on a floating or intermediate line but black or olive Buzzer, Cats Whisker, black Tadpole and GRHE have all accounted for a few fish.

The biggest fish of the week was a 6lb rainbow caught by venue regular Rod Lacey of Nuneaton who caught it on a small Damsel Nymph fished on a floating line. Barry Waring and Malcolm Randle shared a boat on Cocks Close and caught 14 fish between them up to 4lb with Damsel Nymph and black Lures accounting for most of them.

On the Park Meadow pool, Derek Bevan of Birmingham caught seven fish to 3½lb using a small GRHE on a floating line whilst fishing from a boat. On the bank of Cocks Close, Dave Bratby of Birmingham caught and returned nine fish to 5lb using his favourite bead eyed Damsel on a floating line.
