        Had a tidy round in my garage today and came across a swing tip / quiver tip target board, can’t remember when I last used this or when I last saw one being used have they simply gone out of fashion?
        I imagine they were a pre carp invention though I fish a good few silver fish matches and still can’t recall seeing one for years.

          HI used one of these way back when bream fishing on Castle Howard lake seem to recall that If you stared at them long enough then looked into the water you would see a grey outline of the board on the water.
          And before anyone says I was not on the magic mushrooms or any other mind bending substance unless brasem counts.
          I doubt many people would use one now there mostly looking for a three foot twitch 🙂

            Funnily enough my mate and I were just saying yesterday whilst tip fishing for Roach that we are going to start using one again. Bites were tiny and a target board would of been perfect. Mate used his bankstick as a target but the boards are coming out again next week.

              Difficult to set up as I recall if the water was over the depth of your wellies 😮

                Strange the timing of this post. I used an old Teknek board today for the first time in ages. Worked a treat for the Bream & skimmers on the lake I’m fishing, don’t know why I stopped using one!!!! :confused:

                  Have a look in the Browning catalogue for this year Squatt, I ordered the new illuminous tip board last month, it lights up! Won’t catch me any more fish but I won’t half look good with a lit up target board…

                      Can’t remember the last time I saw one used,braid / hair rigging seems to have made them redundant.Nisa Steadi tips have also disappeared.

                        Preston are making one 4′ wide for the method in summer. A must have for the Preston tarts 😉
