        REPORT

MOLANDS The much milder weather has seen the fishing improve with shallow tactics now beginning to catch lots of fish. Pole and pellet at 13 metres is working for big F1’s to 4lb either on the deck or as they get more confident coming up in the water. Pellet waggler is accounting for carp and F1’s also, fishing it right up to the island with 8mm pellet. Pellet feeder tactics also scoring on some pegs. Best areas have been pegs 1 – 4,
        8 – 12, 17 – 25, 42 – 48 and 52 – 60.

GEARYS The carp are starting to show on lots of pegs with catches to 70lb in matches and pleasure anglers exceeding this. Method feeder with pellet was the best approach but pellet waggler also accounted for carp up to 14lb. Still good nets of skimmers and bream coming to pole and pellet or caster fished over ground bait. The best pegs have been 1,
        7, 12 – 17, 20 – 24 and 31 – 36.

LITTLE GEARYS Good nets of F1’s, skimmers and the odd bigger carp coming to pole fished corn or pellet down the inside margins. A small pellet or method feeder up to the island is also producing decent catches with small pieces of Polony or banded hard pellet on the hook. Best pegs 3, 7 – 11, 17 – 19 and 25 – 29.

GRATUITIES A small feeder method or pellet fished against the island has been producing good catches of small carp from 1 – 3lb with meat, pellet or punched bread on the hook. A few better sized carp have been caught fishing floating baits such as dog biscuit or bread. Float fished corn, caster or expander pellet are good for mixed nets of carp, tench, crucians and skimmers. Best pegs 1 – 4 and 11 – 15.

WILLOW This pool has been very popular this week with all pegs producing a few fish but 1, 5 and 7 having the biggest catches. Top tactics are the feeder to the island for carp and F1’s or float fished corn, meat or big expander s down the margins for carp from 2lb to double figures.

ANNIVERSARIES The big bay at the far end of the pool on pegs 1 – 9 has been the best area providing good nets of F1’s and small carp along with plenty of silvers. Float fished pellet, caster or corn have all been working.
