TF_gis9Had one for a month had the Tricast Aristocrat for 5 years before never let me down no problems . Caught a lot of small F1s recently and found there was no tip bounce so had short line float to Dacron . Used the short 3rd section today at 14 metres stiff no bounce which I had with the Aristocrat . Caught some quality barbel ,up to 5 lbs + and gave them some stick on a 12 + hollow elastic no problems on a match kit . At the moment would give it 10 out of 10

TF_paulnewellThe true test of a great pole IMO should not be with a short no3 or 4 . We all know the huge improvement that these make .!!! Which leads me to think that the no4 joint must be abig problem area for new top end poles but I ain’t a carbon expert !!

TF_redarmypaul i had the trilogy xs and ive had the pro 2 since dec 2012 when it first came out,the pole is stiff very strong and balanced.i fish for silvers a lot and also carp matches and had fish up to 15lb with not so much as a creek.at 14mts and a bottomed out black hydro ive dislodged a 8lb carp out of the middle of a lily bed not many poles would do that without a cloud of carbon splinters.they have also just brought out a 1 peice top 3 that is about 6ft 6in designed for shallow f1 fishing great value at £45.ive also bought the plain extension peice they make again great value at £140 for 1.75mt.i also know people who have fished it up to 21mt myself ive fished it to 18mt very easily.

TF_redarmycompared to other top end poles they come in very reasonable if you shop aroundyou should get one for about £2100 that price including the offer of a free top kit gives you 9 top 3,s

TF_gaz rhad 1 its a great pole, stiff very strong with exellent balance, i also only used the long 3s as didnt think it needed the short 3s as it was stiff enough without them, also owned the old trilogy xs which i only used the short 3s in because it had a bit to much tip bounce when fishing long.

TF_paulnewellPicked one up in Fosters , Also played with the Air , Acolite , and Nemesis . OH and the 901. Wouldn’t you love a whole week to fish with them all before you take the plunge . Thinking you wouldn’t buy a car without a test drive ? Would you ? 😮 PS I did like the feel of the Tri cast !

TF_redarmyyou could buy a lot of extra spares with the difference in price paul, its been on the banks 18 months now so has got plenty of users and history behind it.your saving £700 over the 901 and £1500 over the air,£300 on the nemesis which comes with 2 less top kits AND £600 on the acolyte with the samenumber of top kits.chris made a comment on the othe thread about the trilogy being flappy, the original trilogy xs was a bit tippy but the pro2 is definately not .

Depends what you compare it to and at what actual length etc. I thought it was big in diameter (most seem to be), heavy and soft in action. But, then, that is probably why it is cheaper than most others it is being compared to.

TF_James wilsonHow long is the pro 2?
-
22/04/2014 at 7:49 am #171590
TF_RhinoPro 2 is at it’s best with the short 3
With that in plAce and a match top 2 with no1 out then u need a full extension to get within 20cm of 16m
That said most poles are the same! -
