Do we as anglers think about nets enough and does it matter?
Landing nets – an essential but cheap bit of kit. Whilst strength of the frame seems most important characteristic there seems to be more focus on weight and net material. I know high speed scooping relies on light material but isn’t be all and end all. Given the rise in large commercial carp sure now strength of frame is the priority?

Keepnets – prices on keepnets range loads but even though fish safety should be paramount there are a range of materials used and seems as much geared towards coloured metal edges and massive makers names being viewable. Whilst I get the appeal of this it obviously doesn’t help you catch more or help the fish. Therefore is it best to get cheaper nets (that are probably made in same factories as major brands) as long as they are fish safe and just renew more often?
