  Can anyone tell me if its possible to stop the spool from being so free running I have been getting a few tangles behind the spool because of this,it’s not that the spool is over filled. :confused:

  What do you mean by free running? I know what that is but in what situation are you using this? I’m guessing you’ve tried tightening the drag.

  I mainly use the reel for for feeder fishing or straight lead when I put the rod down I sometimes if find the reel has run has run back and the line looped down off the spool and if I do not notice as I rewind the line finishes up be hind the spool. :confused:

  Put the anti-reverse on, if you are backwinding when playing fish take it off when you lift into a fish.

  i fully understand youyr problems as i have the same problem with my aero match reels from shimano. the reel is too free running. one way is to try and get a double handle to keep the handle from backwindind too easily and the other is to get the reel serviced and repacked with a heavier grease and a general tightening up of the reel allround. i hope this helps as it is the most frustrating thing to happen especially with a good fish on the hook.

  Is it the baitrunner running too freely if so have you tried tightenning up.

  You’re talking about the ST400fa baitrunner, or the FA front drag reel??
