        Hi all!

I’m making a return to fishing having not been out for around four or five years and have decided to kickstart my return with a trip to White Acres!

I used to be a regular and go maybe two or three times a year and knew the waters pretty well but I understand there has been quite a change in stocking etc and having viewed recent match results there are some slightly different areas throwing up weights and methods are working where I wouldn’t necessarily imagine them doing so before.

I understand Eery is now full of pasty sized carp as opposed to the specimens that used to inhabit the lake, no more 10 fish for a ton!

I’ve noticed weights coming off Trelawny fishing shallow and I wouldn’t of previously thought of this as the best lake for this tactic.

Last time I fished Acorn there was no sign of the mass amounts of 2lb – 3lb carp that used to make up weights, recently there seems to be some good results emerging from here, what is the stamp of fish currently?

Also noticed the odd weight coming from Canal, I’ve heard rumors that it’s now F1s in Canal and not small pasties as before?

I’ve heard there are some barbel knocking around in Pollawyn and other lakes, what size are these?

If there are any White Acres regulars on here it would be much appreciated if you could shed some light and share some opinions, just trying to get a general flavour of what to expect!

        Many thanks,
        John
