Preston Innovations and Sonubaits consultant Michael Buchwalder topped the field in this sellout Evesham Championship qualifier, with a 10-0-0 net from peg two. Michael started his match on feeder, and took several perch and eels, before settling into a good run of quality roach on hempseed. Fishing the pole at 14.5m, the Daiwa Dorking ace included fish to 1lb in his net.

Runner up Dave Allsop included an 8lb barbel in his catch from peg 40. Third place angler, Dave Harpin also caught a a 5lb barbel, and several eels in his catch from peg 23 below the town bridge.

In all, the match proved a very close affair with five anglers weighing between 9lb and the winning weight of 10lb!
