I briefly held the lake record last year with 180lb all wagler fish to far bank.
Fished it twice this year in warmer weather and did 70 and 50lb.
They seem to have wised up to the wag but you can catch shallow on the pole, down the edge is good too but there are loads of small carp to get through for the larger fish.
The bigger carp only tend to show in certain pegs depending on wind direction. It usually blows to low numbers with peg2 being the best for us over a number of matches. One guy had a 17lb fish off it this year.
Pellets dominate but as it’s cooling down other baits are necessary, if you use maggot you are almost certain of a busy day, some of our lads use it and they always weigh 30lb plus.
It’s a canal type lake 25 m wide pegged one bank only with a fair bit of room for options.
Make sure you understand and stick to the rules, they are keen here and will not weigh you in if you break them.
That said best fishery for miles around here IMO.
