        Fluorocarbon is Invisable in water why do we need low diameter breaking strains , why not fish 5ld hook lengths in winter ? Discuss

            Because fluorocarbon has the same refractive index as water, it doesn’t necessarily make it invisible.

            Then there’s the fact that it’s ‘brittle’, so you end up fishing a larger diameter line.

            It being larger diameter, it’s stiffer., and will alter presentation.

            Personally, I don’t use the stuff…

              Remember that you matching hook sizes to the bait you are using first and foremost,not the fish you are targeting.so you still need low diameter lines/finer breaking strain lines to tie to your hooks if they are small sizes,wether using monofilament or flourocarbon.so you are not going to be using 22-24 size hooks on a canal tied to 4-5lb, in winter,or size 12-14,s to 1lb.1.5lb in summer.
