        Hi
        has anyone had a match or pleasure fished Marsh lake at the Peatling lake complex very recently, our club has a match there this coming sunday, what baits or method would be best used,depth of lake and head of fish…ie are there F1 carp as well as the usual mirrors & commons, some one told me there was barble as well…!! I know there is a sunken island, can this be reached with a pole…

          Well see’ing as no info is available..I can only assume this match is going to be a big learner curve for us all.. ther’ll be some moaning from a few now doubt, and proberly some low weights to follow, but hey thats why we go its the challenge…just have to try a bit harder won’t we, at least the weather looks like it might hold out,..ho hum, good luck to any one elce out there..

            Marsh lake you will be fishing for mainly barbel and ide a few skimmers and roach the best atack is chop worm and caster its a moody lake 4 weeks ago 100 lb won then the next week 40 lb won the first pegs seem to be better pegs it’s gone cold now but you would normally catch close in the sunken island has rocks on it now you can chuck to it but most pegs can be reached by a pole no proper carp in there if I was going I would fish long look for 3-4 foot 0.11 line choppy n caster remember it’s at least 2-3 nets and they cannot be put in till the all in 🙂

              your advise was spot on mate,it was cold and misty as you alluded to, the winning weight came off peg 16, with 35lbs of mainly barbel, and yes chopped worm & caster was the winning method at 5mts & across on the bomb to the island..some lads also got them going close in on dead reds and meat..

                  No mate..came 2nd with 27lbs….good enougth to keep my chances of winning our clubs 1st division league…thanks again for the info
