        Hi All
Getting back into my “tip fishing” and me and my mates are heading over the Yorkshire border this coming weekend to fish the Doncaster AA Open at Southfield Reservoir. Any information relating to methods, ground bait mixes, flying pegs to draw, areas to avoid would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kenny, fished it last weekend both sat and Sunday, 7 bream and a few roach on sat, 9 bream on Sunday, fishing at approx 50 mts,
Dead red maggot or worm on the hook, never had a bite on caster,
Chopped worm and dead pinkie ,caster in the feeder, it’s been fishing on the hard side this last week, with the changeable weather, fish being caught all round the res so I cannot say which pegs are favourable
Good luck, let us know how you get on

Hi Kenny, as Daveyboy says methods are correct, been a bit patchy, but the mid 60’s through to about 78 have been more consistent than most. Some better fish showing all round.

If you are in th early pegs the walk will be hard after the rain but always fish down there. Can be a slow start but give it an hour regular feed – pole nothing being caught.

Enjoyed my trip over the Pennines earlier.
I had 6 bream for 14 pound from Peg 70, all on 2 small redworm tipped with a dead red maggot on a 14’s at 50 turns.
My section was won by the end peg in the match he had 7 bream for 15 pound.
I did not stay for the presentation but my travelling buddy’s section was won with 27 pound so I can only presume you needed around 30 pound to frame. The match was well organised and a friendly bunch. All seemed keen “tip anglers” and the England feeder team manager Tom Pickering drew a fancied area, so I will presume he will have done well. The anglers either side of me only fished at 40 turns and both
blanked so I got something right. Its been a long day but a thoroughly enjoyable one. Tomorrow we are staying local and hoping the “tip ” continues to go round.
