It depends on the type of pellets you can get hold of, rayroy. I went though a period where using soaked hard pellets. It worked very well on some of my local venues.
Carp pellets are quite difficult to get right. Basic idea is to add cold water to some hard pellets over night to allow the water to soak completely into the pellets. You can then hook carefully without the pellet splitting or falling a part.
Its easier with low oil 4ml trough pellets. Just put boiling water and pellets 50/50 in a air tight box. Leave to cool over night. Break the pellets up in the morning. These go on a hook very well.
They are not something to use on bagging waters. On difficult venues where your fishing for a few bites and small winning weights. It can give you an edge. Skimmers, F1s and carp love these pellets. Other silvers hate them. So, can be the answer on venues where small roach can be a real problem.
Try putting some of these pellets in a liquidizer and give them a quick blast to break the soft pellets down and make a ready to use ground bait. One way of getting around trout pellet bans on commercial venues.
