  Took a trip up to a recent trade show to try out a load of the newer 2015 stuff. Really interesting! Apologies for the very average photos. Camera wasn’t behaving so Had to use my phone 🙁

  Very interesting. What frustrates me with the latest reels is this sharp edged lip the the spools now have which I find horrible to fish with. I know I’m old school and still using archaic Mitchell Matches but the Shimano Stradics I have seem to have evolved with the oldest (1998?) having a rounded lip to the spool, the 2003 ones a thinner lip but OK and when I got new spools that fit the 2003 models a sharp lip . I know it’s meant to improve casting but no fun trotting/feathering casts.
