I cant advise winter methods but love this lake in summer. The lake is an extension arm of swan but now blocked off. Pegs start at 14 and go to 33 if memory recalls. The end bank pegs furthest from the main lake is where the sand bar is, peg 23 is corner, 24 and 25 on the end and 26 the other corner all are on the bar. The bar is simply an extension from the last island you can see. I have had 100lb + on pegs 18 peg 23 and peg 26.
I usually bomb and pellet with wag over top but also the edge can be very good as well as shallow late on. Deepest part is on the high numbers 26-33 as well as 14/15 and I suspect these would be where you want to be but the carp do move around and are big so you wont need many for a decent weight. Method to islands works too as well as pole on deck. If you target silvers you can often knock up a decent weight.

            Thanks John

What kind off weight would you expect to need to frame and is it possible just to do this with silvers or do you need to target the carp?

I only fished it in winter once so I have no idea of what you might need. Someone should drop on fish and if they feed even for a short time 50 plus is on the cards, possibly a lot more. 26 in the corner is the usual area but it all depends upon the wind and temperature. I think in the match I fished 80 odd won off 26 just chucking a method to the sedges along the end bank.
Ask in the pellet shop the guys are helpful and will always advise where weights have been caught also baits etc.
