Hello all…..Gonna start coarse fishing after 15 years so I can perhaps introduce son to the sport eventually.Will only be fishing small/medium ponds/lakes for now and would like to ledger & float fish.Don’t want to spend too much at this time so am looking for an all round rod and reel combo.So much choice these days though and would like bit of advice with the following please.

ForceMaster AX Commercial 11′ or 12′ ledger rod.I know these are quiver tip rods but used to use my old Shimano ledger rod for float fishing as well.Not sure how long rod should be

Baitrunner ST6000 RB reel looks OK but perhaps a bit too big for my needs so have looked at Baitrunner 2500 or 4000 ST FB.Have also used baitrunners for float fishing before.The RB’s are rear drag and FB’s are front drag.Is this important?

Used to use Daiwa Powermesh rods for carp fishing but Shimano for everything elso so prefer to stick with that brand.£100 or so for Shimano combo seems very reasonable as well 🙂 Any advice appreciated
