        I fish one of my club lakes for perch, and have had them to about a 1lb, but they go to over 3lbs.
        I have caught on the pole in margins on red mag and worm, but I am going to try using small shrimps dyed red, and will try in autumn (say Sept) Can anyone give advice on pole float type and hook type/size?

          i dont think flote choice realy matters hook, choice i think u can use small hook an nick the shrimp or u could use a big hook an berry it with just the point showing
