Local ace Trevor Chalk booked himself a place in this years Evesham Championship, after winning the first Sunday match of the season with a 7-1-0 net. Drawn on peg 52, Trevor started his match fishing the pole at 16m, loosefeeding maggots up to a weed bed on the far bank. Fishing a light, strung out rig, he caught a couple of good perch, and small chublets, giving him a good start to the day. He added to this tally with another big perch, and a couple of good eels on flat float tactics later, which he fished on a shorter line at 13m to finish with 7-1-0 and a match win.
Improving on his third place finish the previous day, Maver Image ace Barry Oliver finished second with a 6-5-0 net from peg 66. Barry caught a 5lb tench on lobworm, fishing down his peg towards some marginal cover to his right. He then topped his weight up with 200 small bleak and chublets on pinkies fished shallow on the pole.
Rich Reynolds took third place from peg 51. Rich caught several small chub on waggler fished tares, and added to his tally with eels and small perch caught on flat float tactics.
