MOLANDS It has been a very up and down week with cooler temperatures and heavy showers making the fishing hard one day and much better the next. Afternoon is the best time and the better catches are coming from down the first shelf or right tight into the margins with banded hard pellet, corn or meat catching carp to double figures and F1’s to 6lb. Scarecrow Point from 42 – 48 remains the most consistent area but pegs 2, 10, 13, 21 – 23, 29 – 33 and 52 – 58 have also been good at times this week.
GEARYS Pleasure anglers reporting carp to 20lb with boilies fished out to the middle island accounting for the bigger fish and plenty of samples from 7 – 12lb. In the matches, method feeder with red boilies or dead maggot fished out into the open water or pole fished hard pellet, paste or corn down the margins are the top tactics. Best pegs are 1, 11 – 15, 19 – 23, 27, 31 – 33 and 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Fishing a little harder this week but by the weekend the fishing was very good again with big F1’s, carp, skimmers and tench showing all around the pool. Shallow pole and pellet down the margins with corn, caster or pellet and pellet feeder to the island were all producing plenty of fish. Best pegs have been 1, 5, 7 – 11, 21 and
27 – 29.GRATUITIES Carp are being caught on the top with bread or dog biscuit with fish to double figures coming out. There have been lots of crucians, tench, smaller carp and skimmers also being caught on float fished caster or expander pellet.
WILLOW Some big bags of carp being caught, particularly in the evenings with corn, meat or paste fished down the margins with lots of fish in the 2 – 4lb range and the odd bigger fish to double figures.
SIBLINGS A Fishing up to the island with meat or banded hard pellet has accounted for the better catches with carp to 8lb, F1’s to 3lb and tench to 4lb showing to this.
ANNIVERSARIES The fish are now spread around the pool with 30lb+ catches of F1’s being caught on all pegs. Pellet is the top bait either banded or expander fished over mircros or a bit of sloppy ground bait.
