        Good Morning fellow Anglers!

Just found this website whilst in the hospital waiting room, escorting my wife for her dose of Chemo.

I’m a Brit who moved over to Milan, Italy back in 2007 and after a long break from the sport have started getting back into it.

To keep my mind off current Family events I have decided to channel my energy into this great sport and also writ a blog which I would love to share with you here:

Hopefully you can take a look, tight lines to you all!

          Hi Eric,

Welcome to the site, unfortunately it’s not as busy as it used to be! Good luck with the blog, don’t forget to post updates as and when. And hope everything turns out well for your wife.

          Les

Hi Ziggy, thanks for the reply and welcome.

Despite the quiet forum traffic to the blog has been pretty good today with over 150 visits so no complaints.

Seems as though many.forums are quiet nowadays, wasn’t like that 8-10 years ago, any forums you would recommend?

Hi Eric, I would have been one of your blog visitors! Very impressive it is as well, nice to see something different from the run of the mill blogs which seem to abound nowadays.

As you say the forums seem to have tailed off drastically over the last few years, probably as it’s easier to find the answer to your queries on the likes of you tube, than actually ask someone a question and take part in a conversation. Sounds like I’m joining the grumpy old men’s club!

With regards to other forums, I sometimes use maggot drowners and talk angling. But like here, most posts get lots of views but very few comments for whatever reason?

                  Good Morning all,

Once again thankyou for your support, there has been a near constant traffic to the blog from here since I posted which is great.

Just posted, deliberating over the Nash Dwarf System. ..

As someone that has just returned to match fishing from carp angling, I will offer an opinion on the Dwarf rods. Steer away from them as the blanks are terrible! They look extremely cheap as well. If you happen to break one (which most Dwarf owners do) you may have problems with returning them under warranty overseas.

The Scopes though are a different kettle of fish entirely as they have been built as you would expect from a rod costing that amount.

If you have you head squarely on short rods (I don’t know why as I saw no need to change from 12′ rods at all even on the small intimate waters I used to fish), then I would take a look at the 10′ rods from Free Spirit. Even the Creeper range feel & look like they cost significantly more & the only way you will break one is if you break it haphazardly!

If you want to use a UK retailer, give England Angling or Johnson Ross a call as they are both at the top of the game.

Many thanks for your feedback, that’s a little concerning.

Does anybody know if the Extricators will fit the Dwarf 2 rod holdall?

I actually went for it and purchased the Extricators, the Scope/Dwarf concept I love but I can’t afford the scopes at present and the Dwarfs don’t seem quite up to scratch.

Just need to sort out this holdall issue now!
