After an absence of 15 years from coarse fishing (went over to the dark side… sea fishing), looking at getting back into coarse fishing again.
I’m looking for a reasonably priced margin pole around £200, got my eye on a 8m shimano beastmaster but not sure this is too heavy duty for what I want, also elastics, setting up the elastics etc etc. Any advice welcomed
Lake species are mainly carp & lakes are relatively snag free. Fish in one lake run 5-8lb with odd low double, 2nd lake average 10lb with biggest to up to 20lb (think this is a rod job rather than pole)

Have a look at the MAP TKS competition power. You can get them for about £140. I had one of the older ones and could not fault it for the money. Also spare top kits can be purchased for £40ish. There is also an extension for £55.

The beastmaster is brilliant pole! Also the new Drennan acolyte carp margin which comes with 3 tops all ready to fit pulla kits. Top quality product!!

the acolyte margin pole is brilliant for the money very strong and not floppy like a lot of margin poles.
