As this is my first post on this forum, my appologies if this topic has been covered already.

I have £1,500 to spend on a new pole, looking for 16m decent spares package – mainly fishing Oaks, Woodlands and some silver fish venues.

        I fancy the GMAX800 – any thoughts?

Not got any experience of fishing those venues, so can’t say what size of fish, but for commercial fishing you probably can’t go wrong with a G20, and buy more speares with the cash left over (think fosters are doing the g20 for 1050).

Or, if you want all the spares thrown in try the new sensas power match 764. It’s a real nice pole, with 11 top kits in total. Felt strong as an ox too, well balanced, a bit heavy but it’s a strong pole from the feels of it. Sensas spares are real good value too.

try and get a look at the browning Z7 i paid 1250 for mine for 16m, 7 kits, and 2 no4s. ive got the Z9 now but upt to 14m i reckon the Z7 is as good. it is def better than the Maver 401 that i had before it. Its also very very strong and spares are dirt cheap.

I had a G-Maxx 800 up last Thurs, bad idea because I WANT ONE!

It’s a cracking piece of kit, very well balanced and stiff. If you want more power kits than the package (only two, the rest are match-lite kits) then ask your dealer- mine said almost for certain that Garbolino would swap the two match-lites for power-lites (they are the same price) which would leave you with a match lite in the pole, four power kits and the two other match-lite top 3’s (same length as top 4, the match kits are long 2’s)

My advice is have a look and see, but I don’t think you’ll be dissapointed!

Like dirkdiggler said, get yourself a second hand top of the range pole.

For about £1250 you will get a mint Pro, G10, GIS12 etc with plenty of spares.

Great thing is, you will then have a bob or two for extra top kits or 17.5m extensions if needed.

These poles will all be perfect for the venues you fish, as will catch silvers and those lumps at Woodlands no problem.

Whats the worst that could happen?
Sell it on for the same money after a few months if not happy.

save up another £250 and get the browning Z9, seems a waste to spend £1500 when just by going a bit furthur you could get a superb bit of kit, second hand is an option until a section breaks because it’s had a knock by it’s previous owner and then you could face an expensive spares bill for a new section still it’s your choice but I’d think long and hard money is hard earn’t and easily squandered

Your on the right track with GMAX800 – It’s so close to the GMAX100 you will think you robbed them – Ave itttt

I have a gmax 800 in stock and will swop the top kits around for free ,i also have a G9 in stock and will do a cracking deal on it and i also have a gmax 1000 if you want to splash out .
I have all the poles here on stock and if you live close then you can try one for free .
I honestly believe the gmax800 is the best under £2000 on the market, for what you require
