        Whilst walking around North met pit last week I was shown some photgraphs of a 41 1/2 lb carp that had been caught at 8.0am on furthur investigation there apear to be several over 40 in the pit plus a rake over 30lb is this North londons answer to redmire, having grown up with Dick walkers stories of clarissa I now find us londoners have quite a few big carp waters on our own doorstep.

          Oh so true Fred. I have fished the North Met and Abbey Cross as a boy with my father some 45 years ago and once saw an angler have a fine split cane carp rod broken in half battling a good fish, all that time ago. There are also monster pike,tench and roach there. Also my father used to fish the North Met when he was a boy in the early 1900’s, so it’s been there untapped for a long time and no matter who fishes it or for how long it will still withold both it’s mysteries and potential.
